Alright, so while writing this I'm keeping in mind the room was crazy cheap. Like less than $40 total. Pros: -Room was clean, no worries there :) -Staff friendly. -random old movie promotional posters in the hallways -location Cons: -Door card to side entry of building didn't work. -Surprise $5 fee for some "resort fee" -Some dude sleeping in the exterior stairwell. - this building seems super old, it's missing a window on the front checkin Overall I still recommend it if you get a good deal. It will be an adventure.

We recently stayed one night at the Monumental Movieland Hotel Orlando. I usually don’t leave reviews after short visits, but this experience exceeded expectations and deserved one. Before arriving, I saw a lot of comments online calling the place “ghetto.” I understand why. The lobby has a certain dated look, smell, and feel that might catch people off guard, especially if they’re not used to older hotels. The check-in desk has a glass divider between guests and staff, which contributes to that first impression, but personally, it didn’t bother us. I called ahead to ask about late check-in, and they confirmed the front desk is open 24/7 (at the time of this review). We arrived late, and while the check-in took longer than preferred due to only one staff member on duty, the process went smoothly. Our room was a huge surprise. Huge is an understatement, it felt like a one-bedroom apartment. It had a full kitchen, living room area, sofa, TV, a jacuzzi in the bedroom, and even a private sauna. Yes, a sauna! We inspected everything, and it was clean and smelled fresh. My partner, who inspected the place like a CSI agent, said she would’ve hanged my head if she had seen a single roach, thankfully, there were none. We did notice a few stains here and there, but honestly, at this price point, we expected worse. The sauna had an old, unused smell, but we weren’t planning on using it, so it didn’t matter much. There were humidifiers in the room, and they were probably working overtime because the whole space smelled really nice, no complaints there. The bed was firm and comfortable for me, though my partner thought otherwise. Either way, we had a great night’s sleep. There were two functioning A/C units, and the only issue was one lamp that didn’t work. The kitchen included a mini fridge, two burners, and a microwave, a perfect setup for bringing premade meals to save money. But if you prefer to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We didn’t drive on this trip, but I read that parking is free, which is rare for the Orlando area, especially near the parks. The hallways and elevators were clean. There was a faint smell of smoke in the halls, likely from guests smoking outside, but it wasn’t overpowering. One neutral-to-negative was the vending machines. They only take cash and are very outdated, but on the positive side, $1 sodas are a nice surprise in this economy. One machine took my dollar without giving me anything, but the front desk refunded it without any hassle. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll keep this hotel in mind. It was affordable, spacious, and comfortable. Not many complaints from me. As always, here are the +(positive) ,- (negative) and / (neutral )points +Spacious room (like a one-bedroom apartment) +Jacuzzi and sauna in the room +Full kitchen (fridge, microwave, burners) +Clean room and no roaches (passed the CSI inspection!) +Free parking (per online listing) +24/7 check-in +Affordable vending machines prices +Room smelled nice thanks to humidifiers +Many walkable food and entertainment options / Firm bed (comfort varies by person) / Slight smell of smoke in hallways / Outdated vending machines (but affordable) / Old smell in the sauna (didn’t test if it worked) / A few stains in the room (nothing major) -Lobby and check-in desk give off an older/"ghetto" vibe -One lamp not working in room -Vending machine took money (but refunded quickly, although experience may vary per person)

Love this place. You can't beat 40$ a night, a solid bed, perfect room temperature, and on occasion DV TV. This is my hotel of choice everytime for the annual universal trip with my favorite person!

Nice clutch and the strip. I would stay here again. Things to prepare for. No cable only a smart TV with apps, no microwave in the room only in the lobby. Make sure you have a plate. The microwave doesn't have a spinner. The front elevator moves slow. The dust cover on the bed was dirty. Other than that it was good.

We moved to this hotel after staying at another hotel. It was older (previously Best Western.) We used the pool and ate at the attached restaurant ($15 steak dinners). We would absolutely stay here again. Everyone complains about the glass on the front desk but having worked in the industry my first thought was a non American owns this hotel. I want a jacuzzi room with kitchen next time! Pros: IT WAS SO QUIET! Like peacefully quiet. Pool huge with a deep end and crystal clear water. Location amazing. Staff friendly and helpful. Very clean room and hotel. Attached restaurant. Lots of families staying here. Large rooms with lots of storage. Tesla charging being installed in adjacent parking lot. Large mini fridge in room with freezer. (Not the small dorm size) I could see universal from our room on the 4th floor. Cons: wear and tear from being an older hotel. Bathroom door needed shaved down 1/2 inch so it couldn’t close all the way. (Not an issue for us but if you’re with a friend it could be embarrassing to potty.) Furniture had some scratches. We had a few sugar ants in the bathroom. Old does not mean dirty. Our room was spotless. We turned everything over couldn’t find a crumb.
